I began by asking my Father a question. I know He can make good come from bad situations, and I often feel Him ask me to offer my sufferings to Him in union with the Cross so that He can bring good from them. I obey, but I don’t really understand how it works. My Father’s answer seemed incomplete - to be Christian is to be like Christ in every way, including during times of suffering. Uniting pain to the Cross does make it easier to bear, but I feel there is more to it than that or in just being Christ-like. There is something on a higher level that I’m missing. Apparently, I’m not ready to comprehend this mystery. I will wait.

When my Father seemed finished, I read Isaiah 43: 22-26, then Philippians 2: 9, and Psalms 96. My Father was trying to tell me something through these, but I couldn’t quite grasp it. I kept feeling that the next reading would put it all into perspective, but it didn’t. I want to come back to these tomorrow, and see if it is clearer. The time went rather slowly.
