FEBRUARY 16, 1986

I began with Job 1 and 2. "We accept good things from God, why shouldn't we accept the evil?" brought to my mind a person who has come to me for advice. So, I took the person, and his problem, to my Father, and asked His advice as to what I should write in response. My Father told me to have the man come to Him for the answers he sought. He told me to instruct the man, simply and clearly, in the ways of listening to His voice that comes from within. This I will do, and I asked by Father to bless the man and the situation he is in.

I began to read Job 38, but there was a long, unavoidable, and unpredictable interruption. When I came back to the passage, my Father spoke to me through it on my status as a creature. It was a lesson in humility, and one of love. It was for love that He created the universe, and it is for love that He sustains His creation. We are dependent on Him and His sustenance. Yet, our dependence is not something to degrade us. He has gifted us more abundantly than any of His other creatures, save the angels, and all for love of us. None of us is the Most High God, but each of us is the son or daughter of the Most High God.

With the confusion of the long interruption, I lost track of the time. I'm not sure if I spent the full hour at prayer, or whether I went beyond the time. When I realized that I had lost track of things, all I could do was trust my Father, and stay with Him until He had finished speaking with me. The interruption did help in one way. I was beginning to get sleepy again, but the diversion helped me perk up so I could listen attentively when I returned to prayer.
