I took Isaiah 8:11ff, Genesis 2:3, Isaiah 5: 11-7, and Ezekiel 15 as tonight’s passages. Through these, I was reminded of how ungrateful we are for the many blessings we have received. I did learn from them, so it wasn’t exactly dryness, still I didn’t sense my Father’s presence as I usually do. I have something of a feeling that He wants me to continue on with the texts of this section for Him to refer to later. So, I will continue on and will wait for Him. He may be braiding together strands to show me the pattern later.

I also took Romans 8, which was on the list, but it didn’t seem to fit in with the other texts, except as a contrast. The others were about our lack of love for Him, while this was only about His love for us. (1)

(1) Spiritual director: I’ll look at this. It needs revising. Too many verses and not all apply. Skip it for now. You seem later on to be having trouble with the idea out of which this passage was put in!
